Nearby too is Grasmere, a wonderful Lakeland village with views abound. Grasmere has drawn poets, artists and painters for centuries. Famously the home of William Wordsworth in Dove Cottage, from 1799 -1808.                          

                                                                

Bowness on Windermere is the most popular tourist destination in Cumbria; it is a hive of activity with plenty to see and do. Both young and old love to feed the ducks and swans at the water's edge and the many steamer cruises and boat hire are popular choices. There are cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes and shops to help you while away the hours. The famous Beatrix Potter museum is well worth a visit too.
