This well appointed and fully refurbished cottage apartment is named after the delightful mallard ducks that have made Stepping Stones their home and often come up from the river to greet us. Mallards is found up stone steps and through a section of gardens to your front door. Enter into a characterful open plan living area with kitchen / dining room. A favourite with many long standing guests; Mallards sitting room boasts an exposed Lakeland stone wall, original wooden window shutters and an open fire for cooler evenings. The kitchen has all you need, complete with a new electric oven with halogen hob, microwave, fridge freezer and new dishwasher. Mallards sleeps two to four guests with children from 6 years old.
The two cosy bedrooms with new beds, comfortable mattresses and all new furniture, overlook the wonderful views over the stepping stones towards Wansfell. The bathroom is ideal for long soaks after a hard day on the fells. Outside the gardens are beautiful with garden furniture to enjoy al-fresco living. Please note dogs are welcome at the cottage by special arrangement including a deep clean at the end of your stay.

Please note; Mallards and Garden Cottage are both accessed by climbing a fairly steep set of about a dozen concrete steps making the properties unsuitable for wheelchair users and anybody who may struggle with mobility.

Mallards Cottage is stunning, its decorated to such a high standard-like something featured in a home magazine. The views from the bedroom windows are lovely as is the sound of the babbling river flowing beneath.

The Owners Opinion......
Mallards has been fully renovated and re-stocked with high quality new furniture. It is pet friendly and has amazing views over the river and the fells and the fields of grazing sheep from both bedrooms. Suitable for a couple who like a little extra room, a couple with children, three friends.or four adults.
